Our chemical regulatory compliance and safety centre of excellence helps support companies in meeting all their compliance obligations through chemical registration services (including EU and UK REACH), supply chain management, GHS / CLP, DGSA as well as with downstream safety regulations such as cosmetics, detergents, toys and food contact.

Meeting regulatory requirements can be a daunting challenge for any chemical company. We work with our clients to fully understand their need and ensure their journey to compliance is as smooth and efficient as possible.

At WSP, we understand the wide-ranging challenges faced by the chemical industry. With over 15 years’ experience, our chemical regulatory compliance and safety centre of excellence assists clients in tackling these challenges – throughout the lifecycle of an asset or project.

 

Registration Services

Having been involved with REACH since its 2007 EU inception, WSP has direct experience in defining, mapping, and implementing REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) compliance programmes working for small, medium, and large, multi-national, organisations. We can manage substance portfolios, keeping up-to-date with the latest legislation and changing requirements from the HSE and European Chemicals Agency. These often come in the form of evaluation decisions requiring additional data, or following the inclusion on the SVHC, Authorisation or Restriction lists.

Our specialist team also provides a full range of services to help companies fulfil REACH requirements, including

Only Representative (OR) services

We offer both EU and UK-REACH Only Representative (OR) services, allowing us to hold registrations and take over importer tasks and responsibilities on behalf of companies based outside of those jurisdictions. This can simplify market access for their products, secure the supply and reduce the responsibilities for importers.

Confidentiality is key

We understand the need for confidentiality and to protect intellectual property can be business critical for some products and services.

With our supply chain management services, WSP can act as a trustee to ensure supply chain anonymity and protect intellectual property. We can also conduct supply chain audits, ensuring compliance through registration or OR coverage.

In addition, we can hold registrations as a third-party representative (TPR) allowing the actual registrant to remain anonymous.

Hazard Communication

Within the chemical industry, the hazards and risks associated with using a chemical substance/mixture must be communicated along the supply chain. WSP can help to ensure you classify, label and package your substance/mixture accurately. WSP can also assist with your health and safety communications, ensuring both you, and your users, are kept safe.

We can complete Chemical Safety Assessments, generate Safety Data Sheets and submit both Poison Centre and SCIP Database Notifications on your companies’ behalf.

Our team offers a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) facility and has provided DGSA services to clients for many years. This includes conducting audits of companies and sites, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to achieve regulatory compliance.

Registration and getting substances and mixtures to market is only part of the compliance challenge. The use of substance and mixtures can have its own regulatory requirements. We aim to fully understand our clients’ needs as well as their customer’s intended uses to offer a full compliance package. This may include:
